Peningo Riders Announce New Single “High Street Roadhouse,” A Gritty Tribute to a Legendary New York Honky-Tonk

RYE, N.Y. – Independent rock duo Peningo Riders are set to release their highly anticipated new single, “High Street Roadhouse,” on August 7, 2026, following a recent string of streaming successes,

Blending Funk and Cajun flavors with a sense of bar room intrigue, backroom mystery, legendary local charm, and always with their signature Southern Rock grit, Peningo Riders serve up a high-energy homage to one of New York’s best-kept musical secrets.

The real-life Rye Roadhouse—formerly known as the High Street Roadhouse and, before that, Over the Bridge, has long been known to locals as a hidden gem across the tracks, and a historic venue with a rich pedigree. Frequented by rock royalty, with guitar virtuoso Warren Haynes (The Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule) known to swing by the Roadhouse kitchen for takeout, the Roadhouse has also hosted guest appearances from members of the Spin Doctors, rock icon Ace Frehley, and some of the most famous Grateful Dead tribute acts in the country.

“High Street Roadhouse” rocks hard, but also whispers knowingly, hinting at secret stories and secretive characters, while bridging the wide geographical divide between the swamps of Louisiana and the streets of New York.

And the gumbo isn’t the only thing simmering – This track simmers with mystique, punctuated by blistering Guitar riffs and Drum crescendos, and a smoky Bari Sax conveying the magic of a tucked-away local joint where the gumbo is always simmering and the music never stops. It’s a classic honky-tonk anthem that demands to be played loud.

The release comes as the Peningo Riders Express is rolling heavier than ever. The band is riding a massive wave of momentum following their viral summer anthem “Duck That Jeep,” which recently surged to #12 on the Hypeddit Rock Top 100 and #21 on the Alternative charts. That momentum is already spilling over; fueled by massive fan demand during the pre-save phase, “High Street Roadhouse” captured the #1 spot on the Hypeddit charts weeks before its official drop. Coupled with the heavy streaming numbers of their fan-favorite tracks “Love Ain’t Everything” and “Pawn Shop Guitar,” the duo is proving they are keeping the pedal down and delivering the authentic, guitar-driven sound that the Riders Nation expects.

“High Street Roadhouse” will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms on Friday, August 7.
