RYE, NY – March 21, 2026 – Rising Southern Rock outfit Peningo Riders are officially entering a new era. Fresh off the heels of surpassing 10,000 all-time streams on Spotify, the band has announced their highly anticipated new single, “Pawn Shop Guitar,” set for global release on April 24, 2026.
The announcement follows a wave of critical praise for their current single, “Love Ain’t Everything.” HypeHub Magazine recently lauded the track as a “window-rattling Americana rocker” with “classic rock swagger,” while Allen Peterson Reviews celebrated its “worn-out beauty,” describing the sound as “a tribute to the beauty of being honest about how hard life can be.”
But if “Love Ain’t Everything” established the band’s “blues-rock truth,” “Pawn Shop Guitar” is the soul of the Peningo Riders’ story.
The track is a survivor’s anthem rooted in the red clay of the Florida Panhandle. On October 10, 2018, Hurricane Michael—a monstrous Category 5 storm—shattered the lives of the band’s extended family, leveling their 1,000-acre farm and sending an entire cotton harvest blowing toward Georgia. Years later, a sunburst Epiphone Les Paul found on a pawn shop wall in Marianna, Florida, became the literal and metaphorical bridge for the band to process that devastation.
“Seeing a community get knocked down by a Cat 5 and a tornado, only to rebuild stronger every time… that’s the fire we put into this track,” says founder Eddie. “It’s about that moment where the music brings you back to life.”
Musically, “Pawn Shop Guitar” hits the definitive sweet spot between Country Rock and Southern Rock, featuring driving acoustic layers, soulful electric licks, and an authentic banjo performance by Russ Davis that grounds the track in its Panhandle roots.
